An AI coach that knows where you are in your shift.

Strive is a health and performance app for clinicians and hospital teams. The redesign built the home screen around the shift, so the app shows the one thing that matters right now.

THE PROBLEM

Lots of data.
No clear next step.

3

home screens that change with the shift

Strive collects heart rate, HRV and sleep data and offers AI coaching. An audit of the full product found 97 usability issues across onboarding, navigation, personalization and coaching. Users had the data but didn't know what to do with it.

THE APPROACH

Built the home screen around the shift.

As the only product designer, Jenny redesigned the home experience around biometric data and shift timing. The app shows a different home screen before, during and after a shift.

  • A full audit of the product experience.

  • Three home screens: pre-shift, mid-shift and wind-down.

  • Recommendations based on heart rate, HRV, sleep and time on shift.

  • Working React prototypes, built with AI tools, instead of static mockups.

THE RESULT

Clearer guidance, designed faster.

Working prototypes cut the time to iterate on a screen from about 4 hours to 20 minutes. The team could test real interactions instead of reviewing flat mockups.

  • A full audit of the product experience.

  • Three home screens: pre-shift, mid-shift and wind-down.

  • Recommendations based on heart rate, HRV, sleep and time on shift.
