AI will set INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS free
You’ve been doing it wrong.
For decades, we’ve had our heads down. Sketching. Modeling. Perfecting every curve, every chamfer. Crafting beauty behind screens and foamcore.
But in our pursuit of precision… maybe we forgot to look up.
We’ve spent so much time designing for people, we stopped designing with them.
Now AI shows up, and everyone’s panicking. What if it does the ideation?
What if it does the rendering? What if it makes me obsolete?
But what if, it frees us to finally do the work that’s been neglected?
The human work. The uncomfortable, messy, unscalable work of actually talking to people. Understanding what they need. Why they need it. What they feel but can’t articulate.
And then translating those feelings into something real.
Something useful.
Something beautiful.
That’s the part machines can’t touch. That’s where design still matters.
AI isn’t the end of our value. It’s the beginning of a chance to redirect it.
Let’s not waste it.
