Chair Design Competition at PIedmont Park Today

I’m judging MODA’s Great Chair Hack today at the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park, and honestly this is the kind of event I wish there were more of.

Teams get one IKEA chair and three hours to turn it into anything but a chair. That constraint is what makes it interesting. No long deck. No polished talking points. No hiding behind process. Just a hard prompt, a short clock, and a very public test of how people think when they have to make something real.

You find out fast who can improvise, who can stay clear under pressure, and who can push past the obvious first move.
