INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: here's what go-to-market strategy should look like

First, get clear on the customer and the pain. Not in some broad demographic way. Really understand what they are doing today, what frustrates them, and what they would actually pay to stop. Then comes positioning. Once you understand the pain clearly, the product gets easier to explain. You are no longer listing features. You are making the case for why this is the right answer for this person, right now.

From there, you need a real advantage in how you go to market. That might be marketing. It might be sales. It might be distribution, product experience, founder-led outreach, or some mix of all of it. The point is the same. Reduce confusion, answer objections, and make it easy for the right people to understand why this matters.

Then execution tells you the truth. What landed, what got ignored, and what needs to change.

Most of the time, the issue is not that a startup never thought about how it would go to market. It is that they did the steps in the wrong order and lost sight of the customer too early.
