INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: the one thing AI cannot take from you

Most people talk about AI like capability is the only thing that matters. Can it do the task. Can it make the file. Can it generate the answer. If it can, the assumption is that someone's job just went away. But that misses the point of what a job actually is.

A job is not just activity. It is activity with accountability attached. Someone is counting on the outcome. Someone is exposed if it goes wrong. Someone has to answer for the quality, the timing, the judgment, and the fallout.

Strip that away and it is not a job anymore. It is a hobby. And a hobby lets you walk away when things get hard. A job does not.

AI can do the task. It cannot own the consequences. It cannot be fired, sued, or held responsible for what ships, and it does not care. That part still belongs to a person. And that is exactly why you will still be needed.
