INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS: Saturday community check-in Is CES actually dead?

I keep hearing completely opposite takes. Half the people I know say it's a waste of time now, pure spectacle, nothing substantive. The other half swear it's still essential for networking.

Here's what I'm trying to figure out: everyone says the real value is in meetings you set up beforehand, not the show floor. But nobody talks about how they actually make that happen.

Are you cold emailing? Using LinkedIn? Is there some platform for this? And how far in advance are people booking?

This doesn’t just pertain to CES either. What’s your general tradeshow strategy?

If you're going to CES 2026, drop a comment. Let's compare notes on strategy, and if enough of us are there, we should definitely meet up. And if you want to grab coffee or set up a proper meeting while we're there, DM me. Let's get something on the calendar now.

And if you think it's not worth it anymore - I want to hear that too.
