INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS: stop waiting for someone else to build what you think should exist

I kept waiting for someone to start a real community for industrial designers. Then one day I woke up and thought, nothing is keeping me from just doing it. So I started reaching out to people and putting together local events. That effort has now grown into an online community of over 2 thousand industrial designers and regular in-person sponsored events with over a hundred attendees.

Same with client work. I wasn’t able to find the type of agency that I thought should exist. So I did. That became Crafted by.

So have you been sitting on the sidelines waiting on someone else to build the thing you wish existed? Maybe you're the person who should do it. Not because only you can do it. Because you see the gap clearly enough to be frustrated by it.

Stop waiting for permission. Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Stop waiting for someone else.

If you see something missing, you're allowed to just build it.
