INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS: there's more of us than you think

Most people picture designers in large teams at big companies. Open floor plans, design reviews with twenty people, endless collaboration. That's not where most of us work.

The majority of industrial designers work in small teams or solo. Scattered across companies, industries, and geographies. Doing everything from product design to UX, service design, graphics, engineering, packaging, CMF, research, and more. The work is everywhere but the designers feel isolated.

I spent this year writing exclusively to industrial designers. My followers went from a few hundred to nearly 7,000. I meet with designers I've never met every week from all over the world. Messages, emails, connection requests. They're out there.

You're not the only one working in a team of one. You're not the only designer in a company that doesn't understand design. You're not isolated. You're just distributed.

Reach out on LinkedIn, start conversations, schedule meetups. The design community exists. It just doesn't sit in the same office. Build the connections that make this work sustainable.

There's more of us than you think. We just have to find each other.
