INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: most of my LinkedIn posts failed

——— I went from a few hundred followers to 12,000 in 18 months. The growth came from maybe 20% of my posts. The other 80% existed so I could find them. Here are the lessons I learned along the way.

Post way more than feels reasonable. You can’t predict what works. You can only produce enough to find out.

Play the algorithm and the audience at once. Both shift constantly. Last month’s winner won’t carry you today.

Give your expertise away for free. That’s what earns the trust to sell the specific application later.

Speak to your reader, not about yourself. Nobody follows self-promotion.

The first line is the whole job. Most never read past it.

None of this is about going viral. It’s being useful and building trust. If you can’t be selfless, try some other game.
