INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: product development gets dangerous when all the experts sound right

One of the hardest parts of product development is that almost everyone around you sounds convincing. The engineer has a strong opinion. The factory has a recommendation. The freelancer has a solution. The advisor has a warning. None of them sound obviously wrong, and that is exactly the problem.

Founders usually do not lose confidence all at once. It happens slowly. The product keeps shifting. The logic keeps changing. The tradeoffs pile up. Everyone has a reason, but nobody seems to understand the whole thing.

That is when the question changes. It stops being how do we make this better, and becomes who actually understands this product well enough to make the right calls when cost, manufacturability, usability, and vision start fighting each other.
