Atlanta Great Chair Hack Competition

MODA is bringing back The Great Chair Hack at the Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park, and it’s exactly the kind of design event I want to see more of. Teams get one IKEA chair and three hours to turn it into anything but a chair.

That constraint is what makes this interesting. Just creative people taking an everyday object and seeing who can push it somewhere surprising, smart, or completely ridiculous.

Teams can bring hand tools, limited materials, and up to $50 in extras. Everything gets built on site. You have to think fast, make real decisions, and live with them.
