INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS: a lesson in UI design

UX/UI designers love to talk about clarity. But clutter doesn’t just confuse, it frustrates.

It’s because of a psychological effect called Miller’s Law that says users can only hold about 7 things in working memory at once. Overload that, and the brain drops the thread. Confusion sets in. Then doubt. Then they leave. When a screen makes them stop and think, it’s just bad design.

Your layout is the experience. Group what belongs together. Hide what doesn’t matter. Make the path feel obvious.

Good UI doesn’t just look clean, it feels easy.

Confusion creates hesitation. Hesitation kills confidence. And once they lose confidence, you’ve lost them.
