It’s faster to copy.​ It’s cheaper to cut corners.​ It’s safer to choose what everyone already knows.

That’s why good design doesn’t happen by default.​ It has to be defended. Protected. Pushed through every tradeoff.

Not every fight is worth it. But the right ones define the product.​ And the designer who picks those fights earns their place at the table.
