INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS: LinkedIn is broken
Search "product design" on this platform. You will get hundreds of results about wireframes, user flows, and Figma plugins. Almost nothing about the people who design the physical products you hold in your hands.
Industrial design owned that term long before digital design existed. We design the objects. The things that need tooling, factories, and real engineering. But LinkedIn let UX/UI absorb the term completely, and now our profession is buried under digital results.
I am not asking for the term back, that ship has sailed. But I am asking LinkedIn to do one simple thing. Decouple physical product design from digital product design. Separate search filters, job categories, something.
Right now industrial designers searching for jobs, content, or community here are invisible. We are being served results that have nothing to do with what we do.
LinkedIn, you built the platform where professionals find each other. We cannot be found if we do not exist in your taxonomy. Please fix it.
