INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS: stop blaming the process
Every designer knows the frustration of reviews. Slides, diagrams, and polished renders take on a life of their own. The room debates, questions, and sometimes misses the point. It can feel like the process itself is what kills great design.
But if you cannot win the room, your idea will never reach the world. Approval is not the finish line, but it is the gate your work must pass through. The real skill is not only in shaping the product, but shaping the story that carries it forward.
Great design alone does not survive the committee. But the story you weave should.
So how are you making sure your work wins in the room, so that it has the chance to win the world?
To bold ideas and well-crafted things,
Blair
