INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS: you need a reputation, not a better portfolio
You don't need to go full influencer to build a personal brand. But you do need to show how you think.
Post process shots, explain tradeoffs, talk through real decisions. Give people a window into what it feels like to work with you.
That's not self-promotion, it's clarity. It makes you memorable. It makes your value obvious.
People can't hire what they don't understand. So stop waiting for someone to notice your work. Market it or someone else will take the credit.
Building a personal brand isn't about manufactured inspiration or thought leadership theater. It's about consistently showing your thinking so the right people recognize it. Share what you're learning, what you're wrestling with, what choices you're making and why.
The goal isn't followers, it's signal. When the right opportunity comes along, you want them to already know how you work.
